Music

by Lew Silvers in Inspiration
A friend was over a few evenings ago and, as usual, the topic turned to art.  Jazz was playing on the stereo, and we had at least one vodka under our belts.  That’s the best time to talk about art, isn’t it?

We talked about what distinguishes good art from bad.  Who has the elusive “it” and who doesn’t.  We decided it has little to do with training.  Training can teach you technique, but if you don’t have a song to sing in your heart, a story to tell, then no amount of training can help.

I’ve always believed that I have a song to sing.  And I sing it in color.
